Halifax 57 Rescue (Canada) is an aircraft recovery and restoration group that operates worldwide and has as its mandate the primary goal to recover and rebuild Handley Page Halifax heavy bombers. These mammoth machines were a staple of the Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal Air Force squadrons during the Second World War. Our mission is to bring Halifaxes to Canada to serve as symbols of the efforts and sacrifices of the bomber and ground crews who served to preserve Freedom in the era of Nazism and fascism. There was and still is no better symbol to Canada, and the world, of the mighty Sword of Freedom wielded by young warriors who defeated tyranny than the Handley Page Halifax.
